Debra Gill, LCSW
Consultant, Supervisor, Individual, Couples & Family Therapist
Debra is very pleased to join Aurora and contribute to the thoughtful, comprehensive care offered by the team. Debra’s clinical work with individuals, couples, and families is through the lens of contemporary psychoanalysis. This model adapts treatment to meet the needs of the whole person situated in their personal history and socio-cultural world. Prior to private practice, Debra worked at Mt. Sinai Medical Center at a substance abuse outpatient rehabilitation facility that offered a multifaceted approach to treatment. She remains immersed in the study of the addictions and their relationship to trauma, dysregulated moods, and anxieties. Debra is a graduate of the Psychoanalytic Training Institute of the Contemporary Freudian Society and the Metropolitan Institute for Mental Health. She teaches and supervises students at both Institutes and offers continuing education seminars to the mental health community. Debra is a member of the American Psychoanalytic Association and a fellow of the International Psychoanalytical Association. She presents at conferences through both organizations and serves on international committees that support humanitarian efforts in underserved communities, globally.
In addition to Debra's consultancy role at Aurora, she maintains a full time private practice on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
